Palisade buys and administers music rights. Diligence is the file: chain of title, ISRCs and ISWCs, the distributor of record, and royalty history. After close we work the catalog — claims, collections, and the channels that actually move streams and clips.
We acquire or take exclusive license of sound recordings, independent label catalogs, and publishing. The list of works is defined in writing. Future recordings are in only if the contract says so.
We treat the seller as the person we will account to, not as a one-line closing.
We look at title first, then income. Genre is secondary. We want a catalog we can register, claim, and collect — not a mood board.
Term sheet, then long-form. Territory, term, and which rights (master, composition, neighboring) sit on page one. Funds on signing or against escrow. If we cannot close on the date in the term sheet, the offer lapses.
Typical pack: splits and IDs; ISRCs / ISWCs / UPCs; exclusives already in force; CMS / distributor owner of record; 24 months of royalties by source; liens, prior sales, CMO mandates. Missing paper stops the clock. Close transfers only what the agreement names.
A close is the start of administration.
After close we keep the catalog working.
Intake and analysis
We map each work: who owns what, which society is mandated, which platform account is live, which claims are already in dispute.
Monitoring and licensing
We watch digital use, Content ID and platform claims, and inbound sync or license requests. Licenses go out against the rights we actually hold.
Collection and account
Royalties from societies, distributors, and claims are collected and accounted on the schedule in the contract. You can audit the file.
Rights on a hard drive do not pay. These are the levers we run on catalogs we control.
Fill in the form, we will research your catalog and arrange a call
